How to Get Swift Step Dash Ability in Hollow Knight: Silksong
The Swift Step Skill is located at the shrine on top of the Deep Docks area. It is one of the early areas in the game that players can access through the Marrow area. If you head down in the Marrow and continue to the right, you will reach the entrance to the Deep Docks. Moreover, you will also meet Shakra (NPC) and purchase the Deep Docks map from her.
TIP: Purchase the Map and Compass from Shakra to always locate your position. The enemies in Mosshome (the area next to Shakra) drop Rosaries on defeat. Farm the enemies in Mosshome to farm Rosaries and purchase the maps and other useful tools.
Journey to the Shrine on Top of the Deep Docks Area
From Shakra’s location in the Deep Docks, head up the platforms and then to the right. Now, continue to the right and stay on the bottom, as it is safer. Once you reach the lava, don’t worry about it, as you can cross it without taking any damage. However, you have to jump and keep on going. If you walk on the lava, you will take damage. Just keep jumping and go right. Upon reaching the end, head up. Keep climbing up the platforms, and once you reach the next passageway, go to the left side. Continue along the left side, and you will get to fight a few enemies.
After defeating the enemies, go to the left and drop down. Keep on going down until you reach the base, and then stick to the left side. Continue following the path to the left, and you will reach the shrine. Once at the shrine, inspect it by pressing Up on the D-Pad, then press the Bind button. You will get the Swift Step (Dash) Ability.
How to Use the Swift Step Ability in Hollow Knight: Silksong
Press the RT/R2 button to use the Swift Step ability. It does not use any silk upon usage, so you can use it freely. Use it to dash on the surface and air to cover more distance. It will allow you to reach certain platforms that you normally cannot. Moreover, if you hold the RT/R2, it will let you sprint. Sprinting gives you more leap when you jump, and combining the dash with it lets you cover a greater distance. Last but not least, it is very effective in dodging incoming attacks.
