Crafting and upgrading weapons are some of the crucial systems in Hell Is Us that allow you to craft essential consumables and items, and upgrade your favorite weapons to overcome the challenges. However, since the game does not support the player with any mini-map and directions, it can be difficult to understand where to craft items and upgrade the weapons. How to Unlock Crafting in Hell Is Us
Unlocking the crafting system in Hell Is Us will require players to progress in the main story and bring Victor Gaz to the Blacksmith Shop in the Village of Jova. The Village of Jova is a small town within the Acasa Marshes, the second main area of the game. Once there, players have to locate Victor and explore Vitalis’ Home to bring him to the Blacksmith Shop.
Where to Find Victor Gaz in Hell Is Us
Victor Gaz is Vitalis’ apprentice. You can find Victor Gaz inside the tunnel with a red light, east of the Village of Jova. Head to the tunnel, clear out the enemies, and enter the small room in the tunnel to find Victor Gaz. Speak to Victor Gaz, and he will give you the Key to Vitalis’ Home. Moreover, he will mention a locked door in the basement that he could not open.
Explore Vitalis’ Home
After getting the Key, head out of the tunnel and make your way back to the Village of Jova. Vitalis’ Home is right across the Blacksmith (Forge) in the village. Moreover, there is a blue swing right next to the house. Once there, use the key to unlock the house’s door and go inside.
The main task in Vitalis’ Home is to unlock the door in the basement, for which you will have to solve a picture puzzle to determine the correct code for the door. For your precious time, “32-17-13” is the six-digit code for the door. Unlock the door and pick up the Vigil Note from the table.
Speak with Victor at the Blacksmith Shop
Now, head outside the house and go straight across to find Victor inside the Blacksmith Shop. Speak with Victor and go through all of the Investigation and General Knowledge dialogue options. Once done, leave the conversation, and the Crafting system will unlock for you. Moreover, it will unlock the Vyssa Hills area, which is essential for progressing further into the main story.
All Crafting Options in Hell Is Us
Once you have unlocked the crafting system, speak with Victor at the Blacksmith Shop to see all of the crafting options. Initially, there will be three main crafting options available.
Upgrade Weapon – Enhance the Grade of the Weapon by choosing a certain type of Lymbic Sphere.
Imbue Defensive Gear – Add a Lymbic Sphere to your defensive gear to upgrade its grade and stats.
Weave Lymbic Consumables – Craft various consumable items like Lymbic Batteries, Suppressors, etc.
In addition to these initial crafting options, Victor can enhance his smithing abilities if you bring him the Forgebooks. There are four different Forgebooks scattered throughout the map. If you find any, bring them to Victor and select the Study option under the crafting menu. After that, select the book, and it will unlock a new crafting option corresponding to the book.
