Disney Dreamlight Valley’s new update, Emotional Rescue, is live right now. It includes all new story content as well as new Friendship Quests for the two new characters, Joy and Sadness. Joy and Sadness are originally from the Inside Out movie. Players will be able to unlock them and invite them to the Dreamlight Valley. In this guide, we will tell you how to unlock Joy and Sadness in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
How to Unlock Joy and Sadness in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Unlocking Joy and Sadness characters in Disney Dreamlight Valley will require players to unlock the Inside Out Realm and complete all of the new Realm quests. The Inside Out Realm is on the third floor of the Dream Castle, and it costs 15,000 Dreamlight to unlock it.
Upon entering the Inside Out Realm, meet with Joy in the headquarters. From there, you have to pursue the quest to fix the main console. After that, find Sadness in the Long Term Memory. You will have to complete a series of Realm quests before you can bring Joy and Sadness to Dreamlight Valley. There are four quests in total that you must complete to unlock both Joy and Sadness.
Joy will come to the Valley first, and Sadness will come later. However, both of them will come to the Valley during their respective quest.
Dream On (Joy unlocks)
Get Up and Glow (Sadness unlocks)
During the “Dream On” quest, you will be able to invite Joy to Dreamlight Valley. You will get the foundation of Emotions’ Headquarters (Joy and Sadness’s House) from Joy. Go to the Valley and build their house. It will cost you 10,000 Star Coins to build their house.
Once done, Joy will come to the Valley. As you complete the Dream On quest, the Get Up and Glow quest will initiate. You will have to return to the Headquarters (Inside Out Realm) and create another dream with the help of Sadness. After that, you will be able to invite Sadness to the Valley at the end of Get Up and Glow quest.
From here, you can freely hang out with them, give them gifts, and complete their Friendship Quests for exclusive rewards.
