What’s it like to play as one of the Ink Game Playable Guards? Instead of being a participant, you can join the side of the enemy. If you’re new to Ink Game, check out our How to Win Ink Game walkthrough, which covers how to win the game as a participant.

Ink Game Playable Guards

It’s official, guards are playable in Ink Game. Well, not yet, but when the next major update on August 23rd rolls around, they are! Luckily, we know a bit of information regarding what playing as a guard is like in each game round.

What Do Playable Guards Do?

In some games, guards have much more of a role, whereas in others, they’re not really needed.

Red Light Green Light

This is a theory until the update comes out

During this game, as a guard, you are positioned at either side, as you aim at players who are moving with your weapon. From the height advantage, it’s easy enough to spot the movement of players. You just need to be good at aiming!

Dalgona

This is a theory until the update comes out

In the Dalgona round, you can see guards walking around the players as they play. So, from this, we can surmise that the role of a player guard will be watching each player carefully until they make a mistake. Then, if they break their Dalgona, the player guards shoot them.

Mingle

This is a theory until the update comes out

In Mingle, you must enter a room with enough people to match the required number. If there are one too many of you, or not enough, before the timer runs out, the guards can shoot all players inside the room. As a playable guard, you may have to check each room, or the game may let you know which rooms contain too many or too few players.

Rebellion

This is a theory until the update comes out

This is by far the funnest way to experience being a guard. As the participants start a rebellion against the Ink Games, it’s an all-out shoot-off between the two teams.

Hide and Seek

This is a theory until the update comes out

While the role of a guard isn’t that hands-on when it comes to the Hide and Seek game, you do need to find the players who have not killed anyone once the round ends. With this, the guard must hunt down said players, which I assume will be highlighted on the screen so that you know where to find them.

Games Without Guards

Some games do not require guards, such as Lights Out and Jump Rope. In Lights Out, it’s up to the players to defeat each other. In Jump Rope, once the player falls off the beam, they’re instantly killed.

What We Know So Far

While a lot is unknown regarding playable guards at the moment, we do know that there is a separate lobby for guards, which looks a little more cushty when compared to the lobby for participants. There’s also a location that looks to be the bedrooms for the guards, which you may have to walk through when making your way to the lobby before each round.
