The upcoming major free update, Emotional Rescue for Disney Dreamlight Valley, will include new content for players to explore and enjoy. A brand-new Inside Out Realm door will appear at the Dream Castle, which players can unlock to pursue a new Realm questline. Moreover, players will be able to bring Joy and Sadness to the Valley and pursue their exclusive friendship quests. In addition to all of the new content, the update will also include a new Star Path, but with changes this time. Disney Dreamlight Valley introduces changes to its Star Path system, with a new addition: Routine Duties. In this article, we shall go over the Routine Duties and how they impact the Star Path system.

Routine Duties – New Addition to the Star Path System

Routine Duties are the new addition to the Star Path System coming to Disney Dreamlight Valley with the Emotional Rescue update. The players can find the Routine Duties section underneath the “Description” of the Star Path. It contains weekly tasks for the Star Path in addition to the regular duties. There will be 3 weekly tasks for each week and 5 weeks in total for a Star Path. Each Routine Duty will offer a certain number of tokens on completion, helping players in Star Path progression.

Every week, the Routine Duties will be unique, which helps players to work on something fresh to progress the Star Path. The new tasks of Routine Duties will arrive every Wednesday at 9 AM EST for the duration of the active Star Path. Moreover, if the new Routine Duties arrive, the older weekly tasks will still be active for those who haven’t completed them. However, for a non-premium Star Path player, they will have to complete the Routine Duties in order to proceed to new weekly duties. For a premium Star Path player, they can complete the Routine Duties in any order.

Completing the Routine Duties will allow players to earn enough tokens to unlock everything from the Bonus Rewards as well. It is definitely a great addition as it will help a lot of players, especially those who do not play the game daily. Moreover, it will allow players to complete two different types of duties and earn more tokens to progress quickly in the Star Path.

Major Changes to the Star Path System in Disney Dreamlight Valley

In addition to the new Routine Duties feature, there are various changes that the Devs have announced for the Star Path system. All of the following changes will be active with the new Retro Roadtrip Star Path coming with the Emotional Rescue update.

Routine Duties are a new type of Star Path progression that unlocks task sets weekly, with each week bringing its own theme, so there’s always something fresh to work on as you progress through the Star Path.

Routine Duties appear alongside regular Star Path duties, not as a replacement. This means now players have two types of duties to complete.

We’ve removed duties that required specific characters (except for characters debuting with the latest update) or game features to be unlocked, such as DreamSnaps, restaurant orders, or other character-specific tasks, making progress more accessible to all players.

The Star Path will now run five days longer, giving players additional time to complete their duties. Additionally, there’s a 48-hour grace period after it ends to give players time to use their Tokens before the Star Path resets.
