How to Use The Crucifix in Doors Outdoors

The Crucifix isn’t a new item exclusive to the Outdoors, but this kit piece can make all the difference between death and making it to the end as a survivor. It has a 60% appearance chance in Jeff’s Shop and costs 500 Gold to purchase.

When used, it chains an Entity and nullifies it, allowing the player an easy escape. So, when is the best time to use the Crucifix in the Outdoors?

Best Entities To Use The Crucifix On

Eyestalk
This entity gives chase to the player halfway through the Outdoors map. The only way to avoid being captured and killed by the Eyestalk is to know the route and run through the many winding pathways, avoiding snares along the way. Using the Crucifix on Eyestalk takes away the suspense and challenge, allowing the player easy access to the end-game area of the Outdoors.
Bramble
Bramble is one of the later mobs encountered, found inside the Hedge Maze. He stalks around trying to find the player, demanding their full attention to check on his visibility through the lamp on his head. Using the Crucifix on him is only a temporary fix, as Bramble can re-emerge using other lamps throughout the maze, but if you’re in a pinch, it’ll help!
Monument
Monuments are easy to forget about, which is what makes them so lethal. These pillar-like entities stalk behind the player to lunge at them when they least expect it. Similar to a weeping angel, looking at a monument freezes them. Using a Crucifix stops the antagonising chase altogether, allowing players safe passage.

Mobs like the Groundskeeper, Surge, and Mandrake are easy enough to deal with without wasting such a precious item.

For the Groundskeeper, it’s as simple as staying off the grass. This entity isn’t naturally hostile and tries to help save the players throughout the game.

As for Surge, if you see the thunder turn yellow, hide! Surge is on its way and will pass through the map, shocking any player out in the open. You can seek refuge inside wardrobes, cabins, or crypts.

Finally, the shrieking Mandrake. Simply carry these mobs back over to their dirt patch to nullify them. Or, show them to the Groundskeeper, who will kill them for you.
