With your ears, the world enters you…” Magnolia Pics has revealed the first official trailer for the mysterious folk horror movie Rabbit Trap, filmed out in the countryside in England. This premiered at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year to mixed reviews – it’s good, but not exactly one of the best discoveries of 2025. An intriguing tale of fairy circles and nature’s secrets and mysterious whispers. Married couple Daphne & Darcy Davenport are musicians who moved from London to a cottage in rural Wales to complete their new album in solitude. By accident they record a mystical sound never heard before and gradually disconnect from reality… 🎧 When a strange young person arrives in their vicinity, things get even weirder as they end up on a psychedelic adventure into the woods and back. The film stars Dev Patel and Rosy McEwen as Darcy and Daphne, with Jade Croot as the very creepy child. I saw this at Sundance at the world premiere and I dig the vibes and atmosphere and cinematography, but it gets so strange and goes totally off the rails that I can only say I was greatly underwhelmed.
