Type Soul Devil Trigger – How to Unlock and Vergil Chair Location

Want to unlock the Type Soul Devil Trigger upgrade? Follow these steps, which lead you to the most difficult boss fight in the Type Soul. If you haven’t progressed through Hell yet, you can read our How to Unlock Hell walkthrough.

Type Soul Devil Trigger

The Devil Trigger is an upgrade for the Yamato Shikai SR weapon.

How to Obtain Devil Trigger

The main requirement when unlocking Devil Trigger is progressing to Ring 3 in Hell. I’ll summarise how to do that later on in this guide, but for now, let’s focus on how to get the upgrade.

Vergil Chair Location

If you already have access to Ring 3, you need to wander around while looking out for the Vergil Chair (it looks like a glowing garden chair).

To find the chair, press the comma key on your keyboard so that you can see the locations of NPCs. Look for the name ‘Yin’, and head in their direction. Once you reach them, walk past them, and you’ll spot the Vergil Chair.

Vergil Boss Fight

Approach the chair and interact with it before using a Dimensional Shard to resonate. As long as you have the Yamato weapon, you can begin the boss fight!

This boss fight is between you and Vergil, and is notably the most difficult boss battle in Type Soul right now. Once you have defeated Vergil, you automatically unlock the Devil Trigger upgrade for your Yamato weapon.

How to Get to Ring 3 in Hell

To unlock Ring 3 in Hell, you must complete Ring 2. Firstly, you need to defeat the Hitozosu of the Wind boss. Next, you must follow a path and climb upwards until you reach a sculpture of a jaw with sharp teeth to find the NPC called ‘2’. Defeat this next boss, and you’ll obtain a Cracked Medallion and Book Fragment 4. Following this, you are teleported to a new location.

You then need to look for Blair, as she fixes the Cracked Medallion. Once this is done, a senkaimon is summoned, and you can enter it to reach Ring 3.

Unlocking Yamato

If you don’t have the Yamato Shikai weapon yet, then you must invest 50 Skill Points into the Speed skill tree. Once you do this, you can use a Dimensional Shard to obtain the Yamato sword.
