“This hotel has a darkness!” Yes it does! 😈 Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for an animated series called Haunted Hotel, ready for streaming starting in September. Haunted Hotel features a few “Rick and Morty” veterans on the team – it’s created by writer Matt Roller (of the ep “A Rickle in Time”) and executive produced by Dan Harmon. A single mom with two kids struggles to operate a big haunted hotel called The Undervale. She is aided by her her estranged brother, who is now one of the ghosts haunting the hotel, and who believes they can have ingenious ideas despite his ethereal state. The main voice cast in Haunted Hotel features Will Forte, Eliza Coupe, Skyler Gisondo, Natalie Palamides, and Jimmi Simpson. From this trailer it seems the pitch was: what if we took the hotel from The Shining and turned it into a haunted comedy like Evil Dead II with crazy characters & adventures like “Rick and Morty”.
