The film first premiered at the 2024 SXSW Film Festival last year, and will be out to watch in theaters in September timed with MLB’s upcoming Roberto Clemente Day. Clemente is the definitive documentary examining the extraordinary life, career, and enduring legacy of MLB icon Roberto Clemente (#21 right fielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates). Executive Produced by LeBron James and Richard Linklater. A 15-time All-Star, two-time World Series champion, and first Latino player inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, Clemente broke barriers both on and off the field throughout his life, advocating for civil rights & humanitarian causes until his tragic death in a plane crash while delivering aid to Nicaragua in 1972.
