“I know my sister’s not dead!” So where is she…? Neon has finally unveiled the official trailer for the indie horror film titled Shelby Oaks, marking the feature directorial debut of YouTube movie reviewer Chris Stuckmann. He has made some short films before, but this is his first feature and it is a big deal for those who have been watching him talk about movies for years already. The film premiered at the 2024 Fantasia Film Festival last year, and also played at FrightFest – it’s now set for release in theaters starting in October. “Who took Riley Brennan?” Shelby Oaks follows a woman’s desperate search for her long-lost sister falls into obsession upon realizing that the imaginary demon from their childhood may have been real. Fantasia adds that: “Stuckmann proves that he’s been paying close attention to all those movies he’s reviewed over the years, as the results are impressively moody and deftly scripted throughout.” Starring Michael Beach, Keith David, Sarah Durn, Brendan Sexton III, Camille Sullivan.
