“Welcome to Tall Pines.” 🐸 Netflix has debuted a first look teaser trailer for a new upcoming original series titled Wayward, created by actress / writer / comedian Mae Martin. This has a very strange sci-fi vibe to it with a cast of kooky characters. It’ll be ready for streaming starting in September coming soon. Nothing is what it seems in the town of Tall Pines. After an escape attempt from an academy for “troubled teens”, two students join forces with a newly local police officer, unearthing the town’s dark and deeply rooted secrets. “The eternal struggle of the next generation…” The small-town cop suspects that the local school for teens — and its dangerously charismatic founder — may not be all it seems. Starring Mae Martin, Sarah Gadon, Sydney Topliffe, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Brandon Jay McLaren, and Toni Collette as Evelyn, the very mysterious founder of the academy. Along with Tattiawna Jones, Isolde Ardies, and Joshua Close. Not much footage yet, but this has the same kind of vibes as Netflix’s Dark series and even The Stepford Wives a little bit.
