Cooking is coming to Grow a Garden! But what does it entail?
How to Cook in Grow a Garden
While we don’t know how the cooking feature works just yet, we can make some assumptions based on how the crafting update was implemented when that first arrived in Grow a Garden.
From the announcement in the game’s official Discord server, a cooking pot appears in the middle of the map. You can approach the cooking pot to add vegetables and fruit to create various types of food. Depending on what you put into the cooking pot, the quality of the food differs.
What is the Cooking Update?
While this isn’t overly clear just yet, I assume this depends on the rarity of the vegetables and fruit you place into the pot. The higher the rarity, the better quality the food, perhaps?
As well as the cooking pot, a pig also appears nearby. You must feed this pig with the meals you cook. I’m guessing the pig asks for specific meals, or maybe you can just feed him whatever you make, and the higher the quality, the faster you get your rewards. For each meal you give him, you earn something in return, but we don’t know what these rewards are at the moment.
Recipes
Recipes are most likely going to be a part of the Cooking update, just like the Crafting recipes that already exist in Grow a Garden. Though I like the idea of throwing random vegetables and fruit in the pot to see what comes out! It’s a fun little experiment.
However, it’s more than likely going to be recipes that you must follow, asking for specific crops. Don’t be surprised if the recipes request certain weights, too! It’s a common theme amongst these events.
