Do Pet Shards Stack in Grow a Garden?

No, Pet Shards do not stack. While this would be useful, pets can only have a singular mutation, unlike crops. Crops can have multiple mutations, increasing the selling value exponentially. However, with pet mutations, they grant the pet an additional ability, so it doesn’t work the same as when crops get various mutations.

This would ultimately make some pets very OP, which isn’t a bad thing per se. When a pet has a mutation, it has its normal ability and its mutation ability. As of right now, you cannot stack Pet Shards, but this may be a feature in the future if the developers decide to do so.

Do Pet Shards Overwrite?

There are only two Pet Shards in Grow a Garden right now, being the Tranquil Pet Shard and the Corrupted Pet Shard. Many players are wondering if they can give both of these Pet Shards to the same pet, which is not doable.

If you give a pet one of the Pet Shards, it overwrites with a new one if you use a different Pet Shard. The same applies to the Pet Mutation machine, as if you place a mutated pet inside it, its current mutation changes to the new one and does not add to it.

To apply a mutation to a pet with a Pet Shard, all you have to do is walk over to it whilst holding the Pet Shard and then interact with the pet. If the pet already has a mutation, the game asks you if you want to switch it out with the new one.
