“One monument cannot redeem all my mistakes… If I could only see her again…” ✨ This is a must watch animated short film – only 11 minutes long. Slow Light is a 2D stop-motion animated short film created by two Polish filmmakers known as Kijek / Adamski. After being screened at over a hundred festivals, Slow Light is now available online for everyone to watch. Slow Light tells the story of a man who can only see the past as it takes seven years for the light to travel through his eyeballs (because they’re so dense). A clever riff of the way light travels from distant stars. “To convey this story, we used two animation techniques: the past is animated in traditional 2D, while the present takes the form of tactile relief, shot in stop motion. We shot all the elements and combined them with the 2D animation to unify the shifted storylines.” It’s a beautiful & especially distinct creation, a parable about life and how we need to stop living in the past. This story also reminds of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which I’ve always found to be deeply moving. View below. // Continue Reading ›
