“No one’s gonna run over me, I’ll guarantee you that.” Angel Studios has revealed an official trailer for The Senior, a sports comedy being played as an uplifting sports drama. At age 59, Mike Flynt returns to college football to confront the past and change his future. This first premiered back in 2023 at the Fort Lauderdale Film Festival, but was never released. Religious distributor Angel Stu&dios picked it up it and is dropping it in theaters this fall. The story follows Mike Flynt, a man who, 37 years ago, was kicked off of his collegiate football team for an altercation. Now at 59, he still carries that burden… He decides to go back to school to get his degree and try out for the team to redeem his past. Michael Chiklis stars as aging football player Mike Flynt, with Mary Stuart Masterson, Brandon Flynn, James Badge Dale, and Rob Corddry. Yep this also looks as ridiculous as it sounds.
