“What a woman!” For real! Quiver Distribution has debuted the trailer for a biopic documentary film titled TURA!, made by filmmaker Cody Jarrett. It premiered at the 2024 San Diego Asian Film Festival last year, and will be opening in art house theaters starting in August. TURA! is the true story of Tura Satana, the star of Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! (1965), told through conversations with Margaret Cho and others. A cult icon and burlesque legend, her bold legacy continues to inspire female empowerment worldwide. A wild ride chronicling Tura’s brutal childhood, burlesque career, cult movie stardom, and impact as a female icon & cinema pioneer.
