“Why don’t you go tough it out for a few days?!” Lionsgate has unveiled the official trailer for the comedy Good Fortune, written and directed by Aziz Ansari, directing his first film after eps of “Master of None” previously. Set for release in October in theaters this fall if anyone wants to catch this. A well-meaning but rather inept angel named “Gabriel” meddles with the lives of a struggling gig worker and a wealthy venture capitalist. He takes a liking to a simple gig worker named Arj who sometimes does tasks for the very wealthy VC named Jeff. He makes them trade places to understand money won’t solve problems, but when it does, he loses his wings and must join them down on Earth as their roommate. There’s probably more lessons to be learned, but it’s hard to tell from this trailer. Keanu Reeves stars as the angel Gabriel, along with Seth Rogen, Aziz Ansari, plus Keke Palmer, Sandra Oh, and Stephen McKinley Henderson, too. This doesn’t look any better than the teaser, but I’m hoping there’s some actually good humor in it.
