“Where are we going with this, kid?” “I have no idea… I just really like you.” Awww, such a cutie. IFC Films has debuted the official trailer for an indie comedy underrated fave called The Baltimorons, directed by Jay Duplass (of the Duplass Brothers), and co-written by actor / comedian Michael Strassner. This first premiered at the 2025 SXSW Film Festival earlier this year, and also just played at the Nantucket, Munich, and Karlovy Vary Film Festivals as well. After cracking a tooth on Christmas Eve in chilly Baltimore, newly sober improv comedian Cliff embarks on an adventure through Baltimore with Didi, his emergency dentist. The film has kooky, offbeat humor and strangely alluring vibes similar to Harold & Maude, but also with heaps of charm thanks to the connection between Cliff and Didi. They’re so fun together. The Baltimorons stars Michael Strassner, Liz Larsen, and Olivia Luccardi, with Rob Phoenix as an improv comedian. I had a chance to see this recently at KVIFF and it’s quite good – a surprisingly amusing and engaging little film about a guy meeting someone special while also getting into all kinds of trouble.
