“There’s so much pressure to be a part of the world.” Music Box Films has revealed the official trailer for an indie film titled Suspended Time, the latest feature film by acclaimed French filmmaker Olivier Assayas (after his recent work on Wasp Network and the new “Irma Vep” series). This premiered at the 2024 Berlin Film Festival last year and got pretty bad reviews – it’s a script from the pandemic and is set during Covid-19 lockdowns, and no good film came out of that time. During spring in 2020, two married couples quarantine together in a country house in the provincial Chevreuse Valley, leading to rising tensions and revelations about their relationships. A “scabrous French comedy from master filmmaker” Olivier Assayas, Suspended Time is a sharply personal and fiercely neurotic ode to the eternal expanse of memory and the allure of life beyond our personal screens.
