Collateral Damage is a Friendship Quest for Maleficent in Disney Dreamlight Valley. It is exclusive to the owners of the Storybook Vale expansion. Maleficent and Hades’ feud is back on, and they don’t care about the damage. Players must find a solution to resolve their feud. How to Complete the Collateral Damage Quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Starting the Quest
The Collateral Damage quest becomes available by reaching Friendship Level 7 with Maleficent, completing the Rekindling the Fire quest, and unlocking Remy. Once the quest triggers, go to the player’s house and check the mail from Remy.
Go to Remy’s House
After reading the mail from Remy, go to his house. Equip the Watering Can and use it on the flames to extinguish them. Once done extinguishing the flames in Remy’s House, speak to Remy. After that, go to the library in the Bind and speak with the Lorekeeper to figure out a solution for the villains’ feud.
Gather the materials to prepare gifts for Hades and Maleficent
After speaking with the Lorekeeper, she will give you the Extra Salty Salt Crystal and tell you to gather the rest of the materials to prepare the gifts. The first item that you need to find is Cereberus’s Chew Toy. Go to the pond in the Mount Olympus area (Mythopia) and look for the gold ripples. Equip the fishing rod and cast the line into the gold ripples to fish out the chew toy.
After that, you need to gather the following items to make Feather Balm.
Olives: Harvest from the Olive Trees in the Mythopia biome.
Cape Gooseberry: Forage from the ground in the Bind biome.
Trumpet Snail: Forage from the ground in the Bind biome.
Green Beans: Grow them using the Green Bean Seeds, which you can purchase from Goofy’s Stall in the Everafter.
Extra Salty Salt Crystal: Given by the Lorekeeper.
After gathering the items, go to the cooking station and cook the Feather Balm. Interact with the cooking station and select the quest items to find the recipe. Add all of the ingredients to cook the Feather Balm.
Bring Gifts to Maleficent and Hades
Now, find Hades and speak with him to give him the Cereberus’s Chew Toy from Maleficent. Once done, find Maleficent and speak with her to give her the Feather Balm as a gift from Hades. After that, go to your house and meet with Hades and Maleficent. Speak to them and then leave the house.
Speak to Merida for some advice
It looks like giving gifts to them did not work. Go to Merida and ask for advice on getting Hades and Maleficent to speak to each other. She will tell you to get a Bonfire Pit and gather them around it. Gather the following materials for the Bonfire Pit.
3x Gold Ingot: Craft at the crafting station using gold nuggets and coal ores.
10x Marble: Break the rock and mining nodes in the Mythopia biome.
50x Stone: Break the rock nodes.
15x Coal: Break the rock and mining nodes.
After gathering the materials, go to the crafting station and craft the Bonfire Pit. You can find its recipe under the “Furniture” tab.
Go to Maleficent’s Castle
Now, go to Maleficent’s Castle to show the Bonfire Pit to Maleficent. Hades is in the Castle as well. Listen to the conversation between Hades and Maleficent. After that, speak to Hades and Maleficent.
Place the Bonfire Pit in the Bind
After speaking with Maleficent and Hades, leave the castle and go to the Bind. Open the furniture mode and place the Bonfire Pit anywhere in the Bind. Once done, take a picture with Hades and Maleficent. After that, go and speak with the Lorekeeper, and the quest will conclude.
Rewards
Completing the Collateral Damage quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley will give 2,200 Friendship Points as a reward.
