The Family Recipe is a friendship quest for Aurora in Disney Dreamlight Valley. It is exclusive to the owners of the Storybook Vale expansion. Aurora is trying to share her aunt’s cake recipe with the Vale, but she needs your help to avoid any disasters. How to Complete the Family Recipe Quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Starting the Quest
The Family Recipe is a Friendship Level 2 quest for Aurora that players can pursue after unlocking Aurora and reaching friendship level 2 with her. Once the quest is available, go and speak with Aurora to start the Family Recipe quest.
Go to Merida’s House
After speaking with Aurora to start the quest, go to Merida’s House. Listen to Merida and Flynn’s conversation, and then speak with Flynn.
Gather the materials for the banners
After speaking with Flynn, you need to gather the following materials to craft some banners.
10x Petrified Wood: Break the Petrified Wood Rocks and the mining nodes using the Pickaxe in the Bind and Everafter biomes.
10x Marble: Break the hunks of marble using the Pickaxe in the Mythopia biome.
10x Posidonia: Gather it while fishing in the open water anywhere in the Mythopia biome.
After gathering all of the materials, go back to Merida’s House to check on Merida and Flynn.
Craft and place the Fairy Cake Celebration Banners in the Vale
After listening to the argument between Merida and Flynn, go to any crafting station and craft 5 Fairy Cake Celebration Banners. You can find the recipe for the banners under the “Furniture” tab. Once done, go into the furniture mode and place the banners around the Vale. After placing the banners, speak to Aurora.
Gather the ingredients for Aurora’s Cake
Now, you need to gather the following ingredients for the cake.
12x Shovel Bird Eggs: Purchase from Goofy’s Stall in the Bind for 160 Star Coins each.
5x Porcini Mushrooms: Forage from the ground in the Everafter biome.
5x Lightning: Forage from the ground in the Mythopia biome.
After gathering all of the ingredients, go and speak with Aurora in her house to give her the ingredients. Once done, go and speak with Flynn to see if he is done with the seating arrangement.
Hang out with Aurora
Now, go back to Aurora and speak with her. Ask her to hang out with you to gather the Spiral Strawberries from the Everafter biome. Harvest 9 Spiral Strawberries while hanging out with Aurora. Once done, stop hanging out with Aurora and go back to Flynn. Go inside Flynn’s House and then speak with Aurora.
Talk to Remy and gather the ingredients for the new cake
After telling Aurora about her cake, she asks you to go to Remy for help. Speak with Remy, and he will tell you to gather the following ingredients.
1x Milk: Purchase it from the Chez Remy restaurant for 230 Star Coins.
1x Elysian Grain: Purchase it from Goofy’s Stall in the Mythopia biome for 260 Star Coins.
1x Spiral Strawberries: Harvest from the Spiral Strawberry Bushes in the Everafter biome.
1x Faerie Rye: Grow it using the Faerie Rye Seeds.
After gathering all of the ingredients, go to the cooking station to make Aurora’s Improved Cake. Once done, bring the cake to Aurora.
Place the Cake in the Vale and attend the Cake Party
After speaking with Aurora, go into furniture mode and place Aurora’s Improved Cake anywhere in the Vale. Take a picture of all the villages and listen to Flynn and Aurora. Once done, speak with Aurora, and the quest will conclude.
Rewards
Completing the Family Recipe quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley gives 440 Friendship Points as a reward.
