“This peace that we’re supposed to be protecting. It’s blood-stained… that’s the true nature of our peace.” An entrancing new cinema mashup video has debuted on YouTube – called “100 Years of History in 100 Films.” The video is made by a YT creator known as “Kaptain Kristian“, who creates “visual love letters” to cinema. The concept for this journey through cinema history is not about when the film was made, rather what year of history is depicted in the film. The video features clips from 100 different movies, ranging from The Wolf of Wall Street to Bridge of Spies to The Last Emperor to The Pianist to Malcolm X to Apollo 13 to Jackie to Good Bye Lenin! to Jarhead, and so many others. Now I want to rewatch all of these. It doesn’t cover every major event in human history, and mainly focuses on American history, but it does go through 100 years of time. And of course it’s a riveting and invogating reminder of how remarkable movies are, how much they matter, and how these true stories will live on forever thanks to so many talented filmmakers. 🎞 // Continue Reading ›
