Apple TV has unveiled an official trailer for an epic thriller series titled Chief of War, inspired by real events from human history. This is set to debut streaming starting on August 1st right at the end of this month. Starring Jason Momoa as Native Hawaiian warrior Ka’iana, Chief of War follows the epic and unprecedented telling of the unification and colonization of Hawai’i at the turn of the 18th century. A thrilling, unprecedented telling of the unification of the Hawaiian Islands from an indigenous perspective. A Hawaiian war chief joins a bloody campaign to unite the warring islands in the middle of the Pacific in order to save them from the threat of colonization. The series features a predominantly Polynesian cast, led by Momoa with Luciane Buchanan, Temuera Morrison, Te Ao o Hinepehinga, Cliff Curtis, newcomer Kaina Makua as “Kamehameha the Great”, Moses Goods, Siua Ikale’o, Brandon Finn, James Udom, Mainei Kinimaka, Te Kohe Tuhaka, and Benjamin Hoetjes.
