Despite the slightly odd name, the Dig Gold Digger Shovel has great stats and a passive ability, making it a great option for players in the later stages of Dig. However, it has a different obtainment method compared to the Starfire Shovel and the Solstice Shovel.
How To Get The Dig Gold Digger Shovel
The way to get the Gold Digger is slightly different from many of the other shovels. Instead of purchasing it from a store, you can only buy this from the Travelling Merchant. It costs $125,000, so it’s likely going to be out of reach for those in the early game. However, it’s a great option for those in the mid to late game due to the stats it has and the fact that you’ll have more cash at that point.
Traveling Merchant
The Traveling Merchant will spawn at random times at the following locations:

She will sell three items at once, and the stock regularly changes. If you’re after the Gold Digger Shovel and it isn’t in stock, you’ll need to find her again when she respawns later.
When she does appear, you will get a server-wide notification in the chatbox telling you her exact location.

The Gold Digger is a great shovel to have in the later stages of gameplay. Let’s take a look at the stats!

Passive Ability
This shovel also has a passive ability. When using it, there is a 25% chance that when you dig an item, it will have the Golden Modification. This turns the item a gold colour, but it also increases the value by 2.5x. You can also get this mutation naturally, or you have a 20% chance when using the Glinted Shovel, which is a slightly better version of the Gold Digger.
