Although it’s not as big as some of Rockstar Games‘ other titles, Red Dead Online, the online multiplayer component of Red Dead Redemption 2 turned standalone game, is getting some new content.
Red Dead Online’s Strange Tales of the West Vol. 1 revealed
According to Rockstar Games, this new Red Dead Online event is called Strange Tales of the West Vol. 1. Author Theodore Levin, who was featured in Red Dead Redemption 2, has heard some wild rumors involving the undead, murderous automata, swamp creatures, and a crew of murderers. Players will travel across the American frontier to investigate these unexplained phenomena, and shed some light on what is actually happening.
To partake in the four new missions, players will have to pick up Mr. Levin’s letter from any Post Office or the Camp’s Lockbox, then open it from the Satchel or go to the Telegram Missions option from the Player Menu.
Those who venture out to investigate the unknown will get some bonuses during the duration of the Strang Tales of the West Vol. 1 event in Red Dead Online. Specifically, players can earn 3X Gold, RDO$ and XP by doing Telegram Missions. Additionally, 3X RDO$ and XP can be earned on all Samples Sold. Both of these bonuses will be available until August 4.
Also, players who like to meander the woods and wildlands can earn 2X RDO$ and XP on Wildlife Photography, as well as 2X Role XP and XP on Legendary Animal Sighting Missions.
There are also ways for Red Dead Online players to earn some items. Here are the Challenges available throughout the month of July, and the very beginning of August:
July 1-7: Complete a Round of Wildlife Photography to receive the blue Eberhart Coat
July 8-14: Naturalists at Rank 15 or higher receive the blue Torranca Coat for logging in
July 15-21: Hunt a Legendary Bear to receive the blue Porter Jacket
July 22-28: Complete three Role Challenges to receive the red Concho Pants
