“We’re not just a magazine… we’re a whole social movement.” HBO debuted the trailer for a documentary event titled Dear Ms.: A Revolution in Print, taking a look back at the iconic, groundbreaking magazine known as Ms. This three-part doc film is being released by HBO streaming starting in July this summer. It recently premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival this month. 3 filmmakers dive deep into the storied and complex legacy of Ms. magazine through the lens of some of its most iconic covers, featuring never-before-seen archival footage and engaging interviews. Ms. wasn’t just a magazine–it was a revolution. Told through the lens of three directors and the covers that made history. Part One – “A Magazine for all Women” – is directed by Salima Koroma. Part Two – “Ms.: A Portable Friend” – is directed by Alice Gu (director of The Donut King). Part Three – “No Comment” – is directed by Cecilia Aldarondo, which will examine “how the magazine had to navigate the many diverse factions within the women’s feminist movement itself.” This film looks great!
