Apart from the quests, new materials, and gatherables, there are new crops that have been added to Palia. One of the new crops is Batterfly Beans, which players can get and use in various new cooking recipes. This guide will assist you in how to get Batterfly Beans in Palia.

How to Get Batterfly Beans in Palia

Batterfly Beans are a new crop in Palia that you can forage from the ground in the Elderwood and grow on your own at the plot. Unlike Rockhopper Pumpkins, which are also added to Palia with Batterfly Beans, you don’t have to purchase the Batterfly Bean Seeds. You can get the seeds by foraging for the Batterfly Beans in the wild. After getting the Batterfly Beans Seeds, you will have to plant them in the Soil in your Plot area.

Where to Find the Batterfly Beans in Palia

The Batterfly Beans only grow in the Elderwood map zone, including areas like Mitana Grove, Honeymiel Slope, Mauvais Way, and Okanaa Bog. During your exploration, keep your eyes on the trunks of the big trees to find the Batterfly Beans. Simply, interact with the crop to harvest it. If you are lucky, you will get the Batterfly Bean Seeds.

Moreover, similar to all other materials and gatherables in Elderwood, you might come across some infected Batterfly Beans. These have a dark aura around them. You cannot forage it regularly by interaction, instead, you have to use the Elderwood Potion. You can purchase the Elderwood Potion from Tamala’s Potion Shop in the Central Stables. Furthermore, if you have the Bag of Illusion Relic, you can forage it without any special equipment or potion.

Gathering the infected Batterfly Beans will also grant you a lower amount of Infected Essence. It is a new currency that you mainly use at Tamala’s Potion Shop to purchase various items.

Plant the Batterfly Beans Seeds at Your Plot

Batterfly Beans seeds take 2×2 blocks of Soil to plant. Upon planting the seeds, you need to water them each day (in-game) because it will take 6 days (6 hours in real-time) for the Batterfly Beans to fully grow. Once the Batterfly Beans have matured fully, you will be able to harvest them by pressing the F Button. It will give you 4-6 Batterfly Beans on each harvest. Using the Harvest Boost can get you up to 9 Batterfly Beans at a time.

Uses of Batterfly Beans Crop in Palia

You can use Batterfly Beans in multiple new recipes, including the following.

Bean Burger

Soon Tofu

Veggie Chili

You will also need Batterfly Beans to complete a couple of the following quests.

Bugging Out

Magic and Maji

Moreover, you can use the Batterfly Beans to make the Canned Beans in the Preserve Jar structure. If you want to make a bit of money off Batterfly Beans, then you can sell them at the General Store or the Shipping Bin outside of your plot area. Each regular Batterfly Beans will sell for 23 Gold, and the Star-Quality will sell for 34 Gold. Consuming the Batterfly Beans generates 15 Focus. Last but not least, you can gift the Batterfly Beans to villagers who like them or those who need them. Currently, Reth wants Batterfly Beans until June 1st, 2025. If you forage or grow any Batterfly Beans, bring them to Reth.
