How to Complete the One Step Behind Quest in Palia
Starting the Quest
Starting the One Step Behind quest requires players to complete one of the following three quests.
Upon completing any of these three quests, they can speak with Subira. She will mention that Tamala has gone missing, which will trigger the One Step Behind quest.
Find Traces of Tamala in Elderwood
Upon initiating the quest, head towards the southern exit of the Central Stables to find the first trace of Tamala. Interact with the sparkling spot on the ground. It will reveal a new location on the map. Travel in the southeast direction to reach the second location. Interact with the spot beside the cliffside.
Now, jump and glide into the Deep Woods location to reach the third trace of Tamala. Interact with the sparkling spot on the ground. Continue ahead onto the next location on the map, and you will run into Sifuu. Speak with Sifuu and go through the dialogues. At the end of the conversation, Sifuu will give you a Protection Charm.
Now, back to tracking Tamala, open the map to see the next location. The next location will be on the southeast corner of the Elderwood map. Make your way to the marked location, and you will reach the Beast’s Lair.
Enter the Mysterious Cave and Investigate
Upon reaching the Beast’s Lair, enter inside. Continue along the path until you reach a small camp area. Go to a little hut structure and interact with the note. After reading the note, you need to head back to the cave’s entrance. As you go back on the path, you will stumble onto Tamala. Speak with Tamala and go through the dialogues. Finish speaking with Tamala to conclude the One Step Behind quest.
