Something Fishy is a new main quest in Palia for Subira. It is added with the new Elderwood expansion, and begins by progressing in the main story. As players make progress in the investigation of Elderwood, they will get the chance to catch some infected bugs with the help of Auni. How to Complete the Something Fishy Quest in Palia
Starting the Quest
Something Fishy is Subira’s fourth new main quest. Players will begin this quest depending on their decision at the end of the Nature of Shadows quest. Choosing the “Fishing sounds relaxing” dialogue option triggers the Something Fishy quest. Moreover, if you have completed any other related quests, you can speak with Subira at the Central Stables and select the fishing option to trigger the quest. Upon initiating the quest, Subira will advise players to ask Einar for help in fishing for the infected fish.
Ask Einar about catching infected fish
Einar will be in Kilima Valley, so travel there and find him. After finding Einar, speak with him and explain the situation. He will tell you to bring him an uninfected fish and some infected essence.
Catch some fish for Einar
After speaking with Einar, you have to catch 3 same fish and 10 infected essence. If you catch different fish, it will not count. Go to the De Mer Dock to start catching some fish. Once you have 3 same fish and infected essence, go back to Einar. Speak with Einar to give him the fish. He will then give you an Elderwood Lure to catch the infected fish in Elderwood. Moreover, he will give you the recipe to craft Elderwood Lure by yourself.
Catch Infected Fish and collect Infected Essence
Now, go back to the Elderwood and start catching the Infected Fish. You need to look for dark fish ripples in the water. The regular fish ripples will have uninfected fish, and the dark ripples will have infected fish. After locating the ripples, make sure to equip the Elderwood Lure to your accessories. Otherwise, the fish will not bite the bait.
Once done, cast the fishing line into the ripples and wait for the fish to bite. Complete the fishing mini-game to catch the infected fish. Now, repeat the process until you have caught five infected fish. You can catch any infected fish, as there is no requirement for a specific fish. Catching the infected fish will also give you some infected essence. After catching five infected fish, complete gathering 50 infected essence.
Return to Subira
Once you have caught the infected fish and gathered the infected essence, go back to Subira at the Central Stables. Speak with Subira and tell her that you have the samples. Go through the dialogues, and Subira will mention that Tamala is missing. After the conversation, the Something Fishy quest will conclude.
