The Books With No Pictures is Alice’s first friendship quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Players will get to pursue this quest after unlocking Alice and raising their friendship level with her. This guide will walk you through the Books With No Pictures quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
How to Complete the Books With No Pictures Quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Starting the Quest
Starting the Books With No Pictures quest will require players to reach Friendship Level 2 with Alice. Moreover, it requires that the players have unlocked the Dazzle Beach biome and the following characters.
Vanellope
Ursula
Remy
Mirabel
Upon fulfilling all of these requirements, the Books With No Pictures quest becomes available. Speak with Alice to initiate the quest.
Speak with Alice and Vanellope about their hangout
As the quest begins, find Vanellope and speak with her about hanging out with Alice. Go through the dialogues and then make your way to Merlin’s Library. Here, you will find both Alice and Vanellope. Speak with them one by one to learn that the words from the book have escaped. The words include Magical Nouns, Verbs, and Adjectives.
Find the Magical Nouns
To start finding the missing Magical Nouns, you must talk to the following villagers for a clue.
Mickey Mouse
Goofy
Scrooge McDuck
As you speak with Goofy, he will give you one Magical Noun. He will say that he caught it while fishing around the Peaceful Meadow biome. Now, go to the ponds in the Peaceful Meadow and look for bubbles with words inside. Equip the Fishing Rod and cast the line into the ripple to catch the Magical Nouns. After getting all the Magical Nouns, bring them to Alice.
Catch the Magical Verbs
After bringing back the Magical Nouns, the quest will update to look for the Magical Verbs in the Plaza biome. Go to the Plaza biome and look for rabbits leaving a trail of letters. Chase the rabbits until they go to the Dream Castle. Now, head inside the Dream Castle and pick up the rabbits by pressing E. Collect all three rabbits in the Dream Castle to get all the Magical Verbs. After collecting all the Magical Verbs, bring them to Alice.
Search the Valley for Magical Adjectives
The final missing words of the book are the Magical Adjectives. However, the quest will give you no insight into where to look for them. There will be three missing Magical Adjectives in the Valley. We found them by harvesting from bushes with words floating above them. The first bush was in the Dazzle Beach and the second bush was in the Peaceful Meadow biome. The second bush gave us two Magical Adjectives at one harvest.
So, if you are looking for the Magical Adjectives, look for bushes with words above them. Go near them and harvest to get the Magical Adjectives. After getting three Magical Adjectives, there will still be one left. It will require you to ask the following villagers for a clue.

After talking to the villagers, the quest will update. Now, go to Mickey’s House and look for the last Adjective. The final Adjective will be at the fridge. Interact with it to reveal the Magical Adjective. Pick it up and bring all of the Magical Adjectives to Alice. After that, follow Alice and listen to her conversation with Merlin. Once done, speak with Merlin and go through the dialogues.
Gather the materials to craft a Literary Pop-Up Book
After speaking with Merlin, he will tell you to get a Literary Pop-Up Book. To craft it, you will need the following materials.
4x Sunflower – Forage from the ground in the Dazzle Beach biome.
5x Pink Hydrangea – Forage from the ground in the Dazzle Beach biome.
9x Softwood – Forage it from the ground near the trees in all the early biomes.
12x Fiber – Craft it at the Crafting Station or purchase it from Kristoff’s Stall for 6 Star Coins each.
Upon gathering all of the materials, go to the Crafting Station and interact with it. Select the “Furniture” tab to find the recipe for Literary Pop-Up Book. Craft the Literary Pop-Up Book, and then find Alice to speak with her about spending time with the Magical Words.
Make a Cozy Reading Room for Alice and Vanellope in your House
Now, go to your house and start decorating a room for Alice and Vanellope. If you have any spare room, you can do the decorations in that. Otherwise, you can unlock a new floor in the house and choose any room to decorate. The mandatory decorations for a cozy reading room are as follows.
Literary Pop-Up Book
Rug
Table
2x Lights
3x Calm Furniture
Go into the Building Mode to find all the recommended furniture items under the “Requests” section. Select and place all of the furniture items in the room to finish making a cozy reading room. Once done, Alice will come to the Reading Room. Here, you just have to speak with her and the quest will conclude.
Rewards
Completing the Books With No Pictures quest will give 440 Friendship Points as a reward.
