In this Oblivion Remastered Best Skills guide, we discuss which skills you should upgrade first and why.

Have you picked up any of the Oblivion Remastered skills yet? As well as skills, you should pay attention to your character’s attributes too. See which ones we think are best to focus on in our Oblivion Remastered Best Attributes guide.

Oblivion Remastered Best Skills

Unlock skills and upgrade them depending on which benefit your class the most. They all start at base level, moving up to level 25, then to 50, 75, and lastly, level 100.

Armorer

This is one of the best skills as it determines how well you can maintain your armour and weapons. At max level, your Repair Hammers never break, but even at level 50, your Repair Hammers last 2x longer.

At level 75, items that you repair over their max durability get an upgrade. For example, armor has a higher defense stat and weapons deal more damage.

Heavy Armor

Depending on which class you’re playing as, you may have to equip heavy armor. This skill determines how much your heavy armor encumbers you and how fast it becomes unusable. This type of armor is the trickiest to keep track of due to its weight.

At level 100, all heavy armor fails to encumber you, meaning you can equip whichever set you want without worrying about the maximum weight. At level 50, your heavy armor takes a long time to become ruined.

Light Armor

Another good option is the Light Armor skill, but this only applies if you are playing as a class that utilises this type! The upgrades are the same as the heavy armor for each level milestone.

Alchemy

The Alchemy system allows you to craft potions for your adventures. Once this skill reaches level 100, you can craft potions from the use of 1 ingredient, saving you lots of resources and speeding the crafting process up.

At level 75, you are guaranteed to obtain an additional potion, and you are knowledgeable of all ingredient properties.

Restoration and Conjuration

These 2 skills work similarly in terms of upgrades. Whilst Conjuration allow you to spawn summons for a short duration, Restoration controls the strength of your healing abilities.

For both, at level 25, you can cast Apprentice spells. At level 50, this upgrades to Journeyman, and Expert at level 75. Once you hit level 100, all spells under the Restoration and Conjuration umbrellas are available.

Marksman

When using a bow, the Marksman skill is one you should focus on upgrading. Reaching level 25 unlocks the ability to no longer gain Fatigue with a bow. At level 75, you have a chance of paralysing targets with your arrows, with strengths once you reach level 100.
