Welcome to Elderwood
The Elderwood is the new region that all players can access at any point in the game. It has a Darker Tone than the other two regions in Palia. The main reason for the Darker Tone is due to its magical appearance and nature. The entrance to the Elderwood is located in Northern Bahari. As players enter the Elderwood, they will immediately feel that it is unique than the other regions. The Devs have designed the Elderwood a bit differently as well. There is a lush green forest with giant trees. The giant trees offer the Vertical Exploration mechanics, allowing players to use flowers and jumping mushrooms to reach higher grounds.
Moreover, similar to the other regions, the Elderwood has various sections within it. Each section is unique, offering new environment, items, materials, animals, critters, and fish. As players explore the Elderwood, they will come to find mysterious essence throughout. Players will have to collect the essence and use it to solve the mystery by progressing in the main story.
New Story Quests and New Characters
Speaking of the main story progression, Subira is the main NPC whom players have to help stop the catastrophe in Elderwood. Players must complete the main story quests beforehand to unlock the new questline for Subira. Pursuing the new quest will let players meet Nai’o at Elderwood. As players continue to follow along the main objectives, they will get to solve the magical mystery. Moreover, it will allow other villagers to visit the Elderwood.
Main Hub in Elderwood and New Fast Travel Option
Shortly after reaching Elderwood, players will reach a cavern system, leading to a settlement. This will be the main hub of Elderwood where players will find most of the villagers. Moreover, this settlement will help players acquire Relics, new equipment items that provide various buffs to whole party.
As Elderwood is the biggest region yet, players will see various Stable boards for fast travelling. Moreover, the Devs have confirmed that players will be able to craft a Stable Board and place it at their House. It will allow players to fast travel to any region without leaving the House area.
Artifacts and Relics
The Elderwood brings new systems to the game as well. As players explore Elderwood, they will be able to unearth Artifacts. These are essential items that players can bring back to the main hub and use to acquire Relics. There are different types of Artifacts, and acquiring a set of Artifacts will allow players to get a certain Relic.
Relic is the new equipment type unique to Elderwood. Players can equip the Relic to enhance their and their friends’ potential with various buffs. Moreover, the main hub area also has a trading kiosk. Players can use it to trade Relics with other players.
Release Date of Elderwood in Palia
Finally, we have the release date for the highly anticipated Elderwood in Palia. The Elderwood expansion is launching on May 13, 2025, on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Yes, you read it right, Palia is also expanding to other major platforms. The new Elderwood expansion comes along with Palia officially releasing on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
