Disney Dreamlight Valley has finally unveiled its upcoming 2025 update, Wonderland Whimsy. It includes two new characters, a new Realm, a new Star Path, quality of life improvements, new premium shop items, and more. The devs have recently released the Developer Update trailer on their socials, revealing all of what is coming with the Wonderland Whimsy Update. In this article, we will tell you everything you need to know about the Disney Dreamlight Valley Wonderland Whimsy update.
Disney Dreamlight Valley Wonderland Whimsy Update – Features
A New Realm and Two New Characters
As we have known from the 2025 Roadmap, this new update revolves around Disney’s Alice in Wonderland world and characters. This new update will bring a new Realm Door to the Dream Castle. It will be the Alice in Wonderland Realm Door, and players will be able to unlock it with Dreamlight currency. After unlocking the Realm, players will be able to enter and find Alice early. From here, players will have to complete the Realm story to unlock Alice as a villager.
During the Realm Story of Alice in Wonderland, players will also find the Cheshire Cat on a tree. Throughout the Realm Story, players will have to free animals from the Queen of Hearts’s garden. However, the garden will have guards on watch, so players must be careful. Moreover, unlocking the Cheshire Cat will require players to complete some village tasks rather than just completing the Realm Story.
Although the update trailer does mention the Queen of Hearts character, she is not a confirmed character with this update. There is a chance that the Queen of Hearts might appear in future updates or in expansions.
A New Star Path – Garden of Whimsy Star Path
The new Star Path in Disney Dreamlight Valley will be the Garden of Whimsy. It comes with the Wonderland Whimsy update and will last approximately 2 months. The Garden of Whimsy Star Path theme revolves around the celebration of Spring, offering various items. It offers items from both Alice in Wonderland and Disney Fairies. You can earn these rewards and have a perfect tea party with the villagers.
NOTE: All the items from the Garden of Whimsy Star Path are yet to be shown.
New Quality of Life Improvements
The Wonderland Whimsy Update brings two major Quality of Life improvements.
Recycle crafting items to get materials.
Upgrade any size of storage chest to have more storage space.
Both of these improvements are some of the most requested in the DDV community. The first improvement requires the “Uncrafting Station”, which players will unlock by pursuing Cheshire Cat’s friendship questline. The Uncrafting Station will allow players to recycle any furniture or item to get its original materials. However, it will cost a certain amount of Dreamlight currency.
The second improvement allows players to upgrade any size of storage chest to have more storage space. You can upgrade small and medium chests to increase the number of slots. It will allow players to store more materials and valuables. However, this act will also require a certain fee of Dreamlight currency.
New Premium Shop Items
Disney Dreamlight Valley has unveiled some ahead-of-time Premium Shop items that will be coming on May 4th, 2025. On May 4, the Disney Dreamlight Valley premium shop will have Star Wars-themed items. It will include Naboo Jedi robes, a Lightsaber, and R2D2 as a companion. Moreover, equipping the Lightsaber will allow players to do an exclusive pose.
NOTE: The prices of these new upcoming items are yet to be revealed.
Wonderland Whimsy Update Release Date
The Disney Dreamlight Valley Wonderland Whimsy update will officially release on April 23, 2025, on all available platforms. It is a free developer update and will require players to update to latest patch to enjoy the new additions.
