Fisch Submarine – Upgrades and How to Build

The Fisch Submarine vehicle isn’t just a simple boat! It’s a requirement when delving into the depths of Mariana’s Veil and needs upgrading to venture further.

Fisch Submarine

Ready to start building your submarine? First, you need to head to the Submarine Depot.

Submarine Depot Location

To get to the Submarine Depot, you must head to Roslit Bay. It’s easy to spot, but it’s specifically located on the island’s northwest side. From here, look for the Dr Glimmerfin NPC, who you must speak with to obtain the Drill item. This is a primary tool in the construction of your submarine!

Find the Submarine Parts

Now, you need to use the Drill on various rocks around the Coral Reef of Roslit Bay. You need 5 Submarine Parts in total, which have a 5% chance of appearing when you drill into the rocks. You must drill into a rock 10 times for it to break.

As you have a 5% chance of obtaining each item, this process may take a while. After collecting all 5 items, you can head back to Dr Glimmerfin’s location. With the Submarine Parts, you can now construct the full submarine! The submarine is an important feature of venturing into Mariana’s Veil and it’s also a spawnable boat!

How to Use the Submarine

The submarine itself allows you to make your way into the cave system of Mariana’s Veil. You need to press the E and Q keys on your keyboard to control the ascent and descent of the submarine. You can only reach certain layers of the caves by upgrading your submarine and your suit.

Upgrading the Submarine

There are 3 upgrades available for the submarine.

Volcanic Vents requires the Heat UpgradeAbyssal Zenith requires the Deep UpgradeChallenger Deep requires the Ice Upgrade

Ice Upgrade

Obtain by drilling Challenger’s Deep rocks
1 Polar Prowler
Legendary Challenger’s Deep fish

Common Challenger’s Deep fish

Angler’s Lantern
Exotic Abyssal Zenith fish
