Nintendo Finally Reveals Nintendo Switch 2 with First-Look Trailer

After years of leaks of Nintendo Switch successor, Nintendo finally reveals the Nintendo Switch 2 earlier today with first-look trailer.

Over the years, we have got numerous leaks regarding the Nintendo Switch successor including its specifications, designs, and even names. With the official reveal from Nintendo, now we can confirm that it is plainly called Nintendo Switch 2. However, the trailer revealing the official hardware design of Nintendo Switch 2 actually matches with the leaks. The bigger in size with screen and controllers with the original and sleek design.

Analyzing the first-trailer of Nintendo Switch 2 also reveals some of the core color pattern changings. Like the controllers are now black with red and blue theme around the control sticks and edges. Moreover, there is now a port for the controllers to attach, instead of sliding them to the sides of the screen. The new controller designs surely looks promising, especially with the bigger screen size.

Moreover, the design of the console is also very sleek and modern with black theme. The stand at the back seems more reliable as it goes down further. There are seem to be two Type-C ports, one on the bottom and one on the top beside the headphone jack.

Nintendo Switch 2 Direct – April 2, 2025

The further system specifications of new Nintendo Switch 2 have not been revealed yet by Nintendo. However, Nintendo did reveal the next Nintendo Direct which will be taking place on April 2, 2025. We will certainly get more information about the new Nintendo Switch 2, hopefully with complete specifications, pricing, launch date, and Nintendo Switch 2 Games.

Speaking of games, the first-trailer of Nintendo Switch 2 does reveal that the new console is backward compatible. It means, players will be able to play original Nintendo Switch games on the new Nintendo Switch 2 console.
