The End-game content of Path of Exile 2 is expansive and it introduces players to a new progress system called Atlas of Worlds. It is an ever-expanding map with numerous locations requiring players to gather numerous maps to get access to a certain citadel for a boss fight. However, finding the citadels is not easy as it can take hours of gameplay to farm for maps and find a citadel. Because the map generates randomly every time. The randomization of map generation pushes players to find and follow a new corpse theory to find citadels often in Path of Exile 2.

What is a Corpse Compass Theory in Path of Exile 2?

The Corpse Compass Theory was recently brought up to the POE community which allows players to follow the direction of the corpses on top of the Corrupted/Lost Towers in Atlas. Now, there are two different types of Towers that you will run into in Atlas. The ones that you need to look for are the Corrupted Ones. As you reach the top of the Corrupted Tower, you will find statues and corpses on the floor. The Statues will hint at the direction (north, south, east, and west), and the most number of corpses will point in the direction of a citadel or the next corrupted tower.

Does the Corpse Compass Theory Actually Work for Finding Citadels?

So, with this theory, all you have to do is follow the pointed direction of the corpses to find a citadel. Again, it is one of the many theories that have been brought up for finding citadels, but with this theory, a lot of players seem to find citadels. One of the comments that I have found beneath one of the videos trying out these new theories is as follows.

There are always statues at the top after the stairs. so the theory my friend came up with was that the Statues shows you where north is and the direction in which are the most copses(objects) shows you what direction the next nearby Citadel is. The 3 Statues reveals where your compass should be. So if even if you fail your Corrupted tower you cant run and do a double check because the corruption is gone after the Fail. So you only have one Shot. Makes Sense? Completely not!! but it kind of works to be honest. Follow the direction to the next corrupted tower and you will find Citadels. Found 3 Citadels today.”

The video I linked above, explains that the best way to find Citadel is just to go in a straight direction and not follow any direction from corpses. Another video, yet a more explanatory one is from DarthMicrotransaction TV, explaining how he followed these theories for over 20 hours and did not find a single Citadel. According to DarthMicrotransaction TV, the Citadels are totally random, but you will have a high chance of finding them in their respective biome.

Copper Citadel – Jamanra, the Abomination

Iron Citadel – Count Geonor

Stone Citadel – Doryani

So, if you are in a certain biome, just pray to the RNG Gods to let you come across a Citadel.
