Fisch Strange Whirlpool – Vertigo, Isonades, and The Depths

You may have sailed past one of the Fisch Strange Whirlpools without realising. They randomly spawn but they’re there for a reason!

Fisch Strange Whirlpool

The Strange Whirlpool is an event within a server, which is displayed by a whirlpool in the ocean, with a beam of light going up to the sky. If you see a standard whirlpool, with no beam, then it’s not a ‘strange’ variant and you can ignore it.

However, a Strange Whirlpool is where you can enter Vertigo and possibly fish up a Mythical Isonade. This type of whirlpool tends to stick around for 15 minutes or so, giving you plenty of time to find it. You get a message across your screen when it spawns, but other than that, it’s up to you to discover it while sailing across the ocean!

Vertigo

To enter Vertigo via the Strange Whirpool, you need to jump off of your boat, and straight into the swirling water. After this, you then teleport to Vertigo! This area has its own Bestiary page, 2 purchasable fishing rods, and access to The Depths.

Isonade

Despite the Isonade being a part of the Vertigo Bestiary, you can only get it by fishing within the Strange Whirlpool. It’s currently the only Mythical rarity fish for this Bestiary page! Other than the location, its only other preference is Truffle Worm bait.

Other Whirlpools

When sailing to and from Ancient Isle, watch out for the whirlpools that spawn. Unlike the rocks and barrels, the whirlpool doesn’t slowly deplete your boat’s HP bar. Instead, it sucks the boat right in, and sends you to the bottom of the ocean. You then need to swim or jump back to Ancient Isle to respawn your vessel.
