The obtainment method for the Fisch Ancient Fragment isn’t as simple as picking it up off the ground after locating it!

Fisch Ancient Fragment

Obtaining the Ancient Fragment is a little different to the other fragments you need to collect. While the Solar Fragment relies on an Eclipse event occurring, you can fish the Ancient Fragment out of the water.

You need the Ancient Fragment to unlock the door to the Ancient Archives, which we have a full guide on if you wish to learn more! To quickly go over it, all 4 fragments are used to enter the Ancient Archives, where you can craft rods and fish for location-specific catches. However, the fragments require there to be an Eclipse, so take note of current server events.

How to Get the Ancient Fragment

What makes the Ancient Fragment a little tricky, is that it has no preferences whatsoever. So, there’s no way to increase your chances of reeling it in while fishing. It’s all down to RNG, though if you use a decent enough rod, you may obtain the fragment faster than if you were using a weak one.

Ancient Fragment Location

Now, where do you find the Ancient Fragment? As well as no preferences, it doesn’t have a specific spawn location. You can fish absolutely anywhere, as long as it’s within Ancient Isles.

Personally, I obtained my Ancient Fragment at the bottom of the waterfall that flows into the ocean surrounding Ancient Isles, and the same goes for a friend of mine. However, you can catch the fragment in any location, such as the main pond, the waterfall pond, and any body of water on the island.
