Floating Island is a new game feature that has been added to Disney Dreamlight Valley with the latest Sew Delightful update. These new islands are the new areas where players can test their unique decorating skills and shape the island however they like. Unlike the original biomes, the islands do not have any attributes like ponds, cliffs, etc. which give more space to players for decoration. In this guide, we will tell you how you can unlock all the Floating Islands in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
How to Unlock All Floating Islands in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Four Floating Islands are currently available, and more are coming next year with major updates. Unlocking these new islands will require players to first progress in the main story and complete a new quest for Merlin. The requirement for the Floating Islands is to progress in the story quest for Fairy Godmother until the “What’s Left Behind” quest and then complete the new “Islands in the Sky” quest for Merlin.
Upon triggering the “Islands in the Sky” quest, players will get to visit the very first Floating Plaza Island with Merlin. Pursue the quest and decorate the first plaza island with random decorative items and Dreamlight Library. Once done, speak with Merlin to unlock the Floating Plaza Island.
Now, only the Plaza Island will unlock for free and the other three islands will cost you Dreamlight.
After completing the quest for Merlin, open the map and press the T button (PC) to pull up the Fast Travel menu. Select the “Floating Islands” tab to view all the islands and purchase them by clicking on them.

How to Travel to the Floating Islands
You can travel to the owned Floating Islands freely either by accessing any Wishing Well or fast traveling casually. To fast travel to a floating island, open the map and navigate to the fast travel menu. Select the “Floating Islands” tab and then select the island you wish to travel to.
Decorate each Floating Island uniquely and give them a look that your creativity desires. In addition to decorating the islands, you can also find various villagers visiting the islands from time to time.
