Opal is one of the new Gems in Disney Dreamlight Valley introduced with the Storybook Vale expansion. It is an exclusive and valuable gem that players can find in Storybook Vale, a brand-new world only accessible to the players who own the A Rift in Time Expansion. In this guide, we’ll go over where you can find the Opal in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Where to Find Opal in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Opal is obtained from mining the Black Rock deposits found inside the Bind biome of Storybook Vale. It is the first biome that players will get to reach as they progress in the main story questline of the expansion.

The Bind biome is located on the south side of Storybook Vale. Unlike the Everafter and Mythopia biomes, The Bind biome does not have separate areas. It is one big biome itself with the Library section where you can interact with the Lorekeeper Book. You will get to unlock the Bind biome first at the cost of 500 Story Magic.

The Bind area holds multiple mining nodes from which players can get the Opal. Simply equip the Royal Pickaxe and press the RMB on the mining nodes to mine them and obtain Opal. Each mining node will have a chance of dropping either 1x Opal or Shiny Opal. If you are lucky, you might even hit a jackpot and get multiple Opals at once.

It is better to bring along a villager with a Mining role to have a chance of getting more Opals from mining.

Uses of Opal Gem in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Players will need Opal Gem for various main story quests in the Storybook Vale expansion and friendship quests for the new characters. Moreover, the selling price of Opal is 300 Star Coins and Shiny Opal is 1,200 Star Coins. You can sell it at one of the Goofy’s Stalls in Storybook Vale, Eternity Isle, and Dreamlight Valley.
