An upcoming limited edition PS5 DualSense controller has been leaked, and it’s reportedly releasing within 2024. Trusty insider billbil-kun claims that Sony is preparing to launch a Helldivers 2 themed DualSense in addition to the recently released Astro Bot and Fortnite controllers.
What we know about the upcoming PS5 DualSense controller
In a post on Dealabs, billbil-kun revealed that unlike the Monster Hunter Wilds controller — which only released in Asia — the Helldivers 2 DualSense will be available worldwide albeit in limited quantity. It’ll cost $84.99 / €84.99 / £74.99, which is in line with prices of other special controllers.
Billbil-kun was unable to share an image of the controller or a specific release date, but did say that it’ll be out in 2024. It beggars belief that it took so long for Sony to release a Helldivers 2 controller given the game’s blockbuster launch at the start of the year.
This leak comes a day after billbil-kun reported that Sony will launch some PS5 accessories in a new color. We’ve been told that the DualSense Edge controller, Pulse Elite wireless headset, and Pulse Explore wireless earphones will be available in black soon, possibly as part of PlayStation’s 30th anniversary celebrations.
It’s increasingly looking like the news and announcements Sony is reportedly preparing behind the scenes are new products and anniversary events as opposed to an event featuring games.
