Fisch Ancient Depth Serpent – How to Catch Exotic Fish

The Fisch Ancient Depth Serpent only appears during a certain event at night! It’s also the first fish to be part of the Exotic rarity category.

Fisch Ancient Depth Serpent

The first Exotic rarity fish is here! The Ancient Depth Serpent is the current rarest fish and is only obtainable in one location. Like with Mythical and Legendary fishes, the exclamation mark that appears above your character’s head changes to a different colour. For Exotic rarity fishes, you get a rainbow exclamation mark!

How to Catch the Ancient Depth Serpent

It isn’t just the low drop rate chance that makes this fish a hard one to catch, it’s also pretty difficult to reel in during the fishing minigame. The Progress Speed decreases by 60% when the bar isn’t over the line, and to make it worse, the Ancient Depth Serpent moves incredibly fast.

To top it off, the Absolute Darkness event has to be active. If the fish has spawned, you see a message on your screen that says “The depths grow darker…”.

Location

The Ancient Depth Serpent can only be found in The Depths. Not only is it a rare catch, but getting to this location is already difficult enough as it is. To enter The Depths, you need an Exotic rarity Depths Key, which has a low chance of appearing when fishing in Vertigo. As for where the abundance spots are… they pop up when the Absolute Darkness event occurs. Just before the event ends, these abundance spots disappear, and you can no longer catch the Ancient Depth Serpent until the next event.

Preferences

As mentioned, the Absolute Darkness event must be active. So, understandably, the time of day must also be nighttime. Basically, the Ancient Depth Serpent only appears when it’s dark. This fish also prefers the Truffle Worm bait, which is largely used to catch Legendary, Mythical, and now Exotic fish.
