Rebecca Hall Hears a Hum in Mysterious Series ‘The Listeners’ Trailer

“The hum is not your enemy!” Or is it? BBC has revealed the trailer for a mystery thriller series called The Listeners, which will be streaking in the UK later this month. No US date is set yet – hopefully soon. Not to be confused with the mystery thriller movie called The Watchers from this summer or Steve Buscemi’s film The Listener. The Listeners tells the story of Claire, a teacher, who begins to hear a low humming sound and finds support from others who can hear it. What is this sound? Where is it coming from? Even doctors have no idea. BBC describes it as “enigmatic, provocative, and haunting” and says it will explore “the seduction of the wild & unknowable, the human search for the transcendent, the rise of conspiracy culture in the West, and the desire for community & connection in our increasingly polarised times.” Starring Rebecca Hall as Claire, with Ollie West, Prasanna Puwanarajah, Amr Waked, Gayle Rankin, Mia Tharia, Franc Ashman, Samuel Edward-Cook, and Karen Henthorn.
