“Men die, oil companies don’t. Journey into the patch…” Paramount+ has revealed the second trailer for the next Taylor Sheridan thriller series called Landman, set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas. Once again about greed & power, like most of his series. The first trailer dropped a few months ago – and the series is ready to stream in a few more weeks. Sheridan has been creating more crime / mob / greed series including Tulsa King and Special Ops: Lioness. This is his next new creation, based on a podcast about the oil world in Texas. A modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs. The series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics. Billy Bob Thornton stars with Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Mark Collie, Paulina Chávez, and Demi Moore; with Jon Hamm in a recurring guest role (as an oil exec), plus Andy Garcia and Michael Peña as guest stars. This looks well made and wild and captivating, though I hate seeing any of these oil schmucks prospering. Gross. As with most of Sheridan’s series, this looks like a full-on gangster story than anything else. Fire it up below. // Continue Reading ›
