Nintendo has revealed a significant update for fans of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, transitioning the game to an offline version titled Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete as support for the free-to-play mobile title comes to an end.
Accompanied by a dedicated trailer, Nintendo announced that Pocket Camp Complete will be available starting December 3, 2024, priced at $9.99 until January 31. After this introductory period, the price will increase to $19.99. While this may seem steep for a mobile game, Nintendo is known for valuing its titles. The current free-to-play version will remain active until November 28, 2024.
Originally launched in November 2017, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp has enjoyed a seven-year run. The new paid version will require a separate purchase and download. Players will have the option to transfer their save data, including their level, in-game currency, friendship levels, items, clothing, and campsite layouts. To do this, players must link their Nintendo account to Pocket Camp by June 2, 2025, at 8:00 AM CEST. When purchasing Pocket Camp Complete, users will be prompted to transfer their data using their Nintendo account credentials.
However, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete will not include Leaf Tickets, and the Pocket Camp Club will be inaccessible. Instead, some of its features will be integrated into the game at no additional cost. Notably, the app will not require data connectivity, so online play and item trading will not be available.
Players will be able to create digital cards featuring their avatars, favorite animals, nicknames, and levels. These cards will include QR codes that other players can scan to collect them. Additionally, a new area called Whistle Pass will allow players to see friends who own their cards and receive gifts from them, along with daily concerts by K.K. Slider.
Seasons and previously held events will continue in Pocket Camp Complete, cycling through a four-year schedule. New events, some previously unreleased, will also be introduced regularly until September 2025. Players will have access to a complete catalog of past items, enabling them to acquire any they may have missed.
