“From now on, we make the laws.” Netflix has unveiled an official trailer for the film Pedro Páramo, the first feature directed by the acclaimed, Oscar-nominated cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto. This film just premiered at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival and will be out on Netflix to watch starting in November. The story follows a dusty road to a town of death. Time shifts from one consciousness to another in a hypnotic flow of dreams, desires, and memories, a world of ghosts dominated by the figure of Pedro Páramo – lover, overlord, murderer. Featuring Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Pedro Paramo, Tenoch Huerta, Dolores Heredia, Ilse Salas, Héctor Kotsifakis, Mayra Batalla, Roberto Sosa, Giovanna Zacarías, Noé Hernández, and Yoshira Escárrega. Seems like a unique vision with plenty going on beyond just a romantic story. It did not the best reviews from TIFF but still looks intriguing. // Continue Reading ›
