EA and Bioware have detailed Dragon Age: The Veilguard‘s PS5 Pro enhancements ahead of the game’s launch on October 31. Bioware technical director Maciej Kurowski has said that players will “immediately notice” a number of improvements on the PS5 Pro, thanks in part to Sony’s new PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) upscaler.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard PS5 Pro enhancements include improved resolution and image quality

Veilguard’s 30 FPS Fidelity and 60 FPS Performance modes will both benefit from improved resolution, image quality, and other visual settings. Additionally, Raytraced Ambient Occlusion (RTAO) will be enabled in the 60 FPS Performance mode. On the base PS5, RTAO will only be enabled in 30 FPS Fidelity mode.

“Whether you love deep progression, strategic combat, or diving into the lore of Dragon Age, you will immediately notice the improved experience with PS5 Pro,” Kurowski added. “The team at BioWare is proud of how immersed players will be when they enter the beautiful world of Thedas, with upgraded image quality thanks to Sony’s new AI-based upscaler, PSSR.”

Dragon Age: The Veilguard can be preloaded on the PS5 on October 29, starting 9 a.m. PT / 12 p.m. ET. Xbox Series X|S players are already able to preload while PC players won’t be able to preload at all.
