How to Unlock Volt in Type Soul
The process of unlocking your Volt (also known as Volstanding, Vollstandig, or Vollstanding), requires you to complete 3 stages. I’ll break down each stage below!
The Volt of a Quincy is a more enhanced version of their Shcrift, making this a key step during your Quincy progression. Your character must be at Elide Grade to unlock this.
Stage 1
You need to win a total of 13 Raids in total, but raids within Karakura Town do not count towards this number. There are 3 other activities you can do that convert over to Raid wins:
Win 7 Clan Wars (each counts as 2 Raid wins)Win 26 Ranked 1v1 matches (each counts as 0.5 Raid wins)Win 16 Ranked 2v2 matches (each counts as 0.8 Raid wins)
If you wish to keep an eye on your progress through this stage, you can visit the Unequaled, Unrivaled NPC called V in Karakura Town. The dialogue changes per 20% of the progress you make. Once he says ‘Unequaled unrivalled’, you can move on to stage 2.
Stage 2
This stage is a little trickier, as you have to restart if your character is defeated at any point throughout. If you end up having to restart, all your progress is removed, and you must start again. You need to:
Perform 10 Elite Grade Grips, which can only be done against opposing factions1 World Boss kill (it cannot be any boss in the game, it must be a World Boss)Defeat 50 Hollows, though they need to be NPCs and not other players
You can kill Hollows wandering around the map, but Hollows found during missions count too
Stage 3
Upon the completion of Stage 1 and Stage 2, you need to travel back to Wandenreich. Head to the castle and walk up to the top floor via the stairs. The Balance NPC stands here, who you can speak with to progress onwards.
Your Volt trial then starts, which requires you to parry the oncoming light pillars that shoot from the sky. The trial lasts a total of 90 seconds, and after this, you’re practically done. If you fail the trial, you need to wait 60 minutes to retry it.
After successfully surviving the 90 seconds, Yhwach then arrives. Walk over to the NPC and interact with him to get your Volt.
How to Reroll Your Volt
If you’re not happy with your Volt, you can use a Volt Reroll to change it. This item has a chance to drop when participating in Ranked matches and Raids.
