Fans are speculating that Horizon 3’s release date window might coincide with the PS6 in light of a new report. According to known journalist Jason Schreier, Guerrilla Games is fully focused on its Horizon multiplayer game, and Aloy’s third adventure might be a ways off.

Speaking on a recent episode of Spawn Wave podcast, Schreier said that Guerrilla Games is firing on all cylinders when it comes to the unannounced multiplayer game, and suggested that Horizon 3 might not even be in active development right now. Schreier is pretty well-connected, so fans are understandably speculating that a third Horizon game might be a next-gen title.
Given that Horizon Forbidden West is a cross-gen game, I believe that Horizon 3 might end up landing on both the PS5 and PS6. However, if the game has yet to enter development, I wonder if it’ll manage a cross-gen launch.
It’s no secret that AAA games are taking an increasingly long time to develop. Considering this, and the fact that the PS5 is already four years old, a AAA game that has yet to begin development might just be a PS6 release.
